| April 26, 2011 Taren Point’s Chris Nairn claimed the 2011 Men’s Wheelchair Sports NSW Singles Classic title at Rosehill Bowling Club last month defeating Engadine’s Michael Vassallo 19-18 in the final. Nairn and Vassallao, who are great mates, put aside their friendship for this match with the NSW title on the line.
In the Ladies WSNSW Singles Classic the title went to Lyn Smith (Roselands) defeating Carolyn Nelson (Engadine) 16-8. In the 3rd and 4th playoff saw Joanne Hunter (Gymea) defeat Joy Boyd (Warilla) 28-4. Well done to all participates on a wonderful three days of bowls. The 3rd and 4th playoff was won by Gilbert Hicks (Taree West) defeating Mark Whiteman (Mayfield West) who is also a Sports Development Officer of Bowls NSW 15-14. In the Semi Finals Nairn was too strong for Hicks 22-8 while Vassallo defeated Whiteman 18-13.
