Bribie Island's Brad Piper picked up his first Men's State Title last week when the Fours combination he was playing in beat some tough opposition to take out the trophy.

"We had just hoped to win our section," said Brad of his expectations going into the tournament. "We had a really hard section so to win that and then the final is just awesome." The final was a close fought affair with Brad and his teamates trailing for most of the game then winning seven consecutive ends to finish it off 25-20.

"I enjoyed playing with with my team. It was a great win because we didn't have any big names - all good consistent club bowlers."

" I was using Alphas, they were awesome, they had a really clean line which made them easy to draw from. If I was playing a weighted shot they had a nice kind line which helped."

Team Henselite's Carly Griffiths also continued her winning ways, as part of the Fours combination to win the women's State Title. The Pine River's teenager is already a seasoned State Title veteran, having won the Triples title last year with her sister Shahn and Georgie White.
