| December 19, 2011 It's been on for young and old in WA this past fortnight with Henselite bowlers taking out many of the major titles on offer. Teenage stars Kristina Krstic and Rechelle Cole staged a number of upsets in the Women's State Pairs to take out the title over many more-seasoned campaigners.
Kristina and Rechelle, who are members of both the WA U18s and Women's State Squads, overcame last year's runners-up Therese Hasting and Helen Morss 22-13 in the semi-final before going on to beat Kathy Gobbart and Judy Allen 25-13 in the final at Belmont City Bowls Club. "I am completely thrilled," she said. "I still can't believe it. It's good to finally get my name out there and win something like this." "I was ecstatic to win, especially with Kristina, she is the one person who I would want to win my first title with so I was very happy." Rechelle used Henselite ABT-evos on the 14 second greens at Belmont City. "The greens were a bit tricky to get used to" she said but found her evos were true on the surface. Kristina Krstic used Henselite Alphas.
In other news in the last fortnight, the Men's Over 60's State Triples was completed at Osborne Park with the Cockburn combination of Steve Srhoy (skip), Joe Spadaro and Michael Zusman claiming the title.
Next up in WA will be the men's State Pairs which begins on December 27th. | ![]() |
