News Team Henselite Team Henselite again victorious at AO
July 9, 2018

The Australian Open has traditionally been a happy hunting ground for Team Henselite and 2018 at Broadbeach BC was no exception.

The Women's Singles semis were an almost all-Henselite affair with 2017 SIngles winner, Ellen Ryan, WA's Bowler of the year, Kristina Krstic and recent dual Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Rebecca Van Asch, all vying for a place in the final. It was Krstic and Van Asch who won through and provided spectators with a thrilling contest right up to the last end, with Van Asch prevailing 21-19.

In the Men's Singles, Team Henselite's Sean Baker took on Ryan Bester in another nailbiting encounter. Baker was tenacious to the end but eventually succumbed 18-21 to the Canadian Commonwealth Games Medallist turned Broadbeach local.

In the Men's Pairs, Team Henselite duo Harley McDonald and Aaron Teys took on Henselite team-mate Carl Healey who paired up with Chris Herden. In the end it was Healey and Herden who took home the prize winners cheque.

With 3 out of the 4 Men's and Women's Singles Finalists using Henselite Dreamline XGs, as well as 5 out of 8 Pairs Finalists, this model proved yet again to be the bowl of the tournament with it's versatility the key to success over the two weeks of the tournament.

Other winners using the XG were Brooke Edwards in the Women's Pairs who teamed up with mum Gayle for the title, as well as Dianne Strawbridge & Nathan Rice in the women's and men's 4s respectively.

Finally, Nathan Appleton was once again a big Team Henselite winner in the Disability events, taking out the multi-disability singles and pairs.
