| January 18, 2012 With 2012 a World Championship year, Bowls Australia announced it's new look Australian Squad today with members of Team Henselite featuring heavily in both the men's and women's squad.
They will be joined by Matthew Baus (NSW) and Wayne Ruediger (SA) whose stand-out performances in 2011 have earned them selection. In the women's squad, teenage sensation Lisa Phillips (VIC) who has represented Australia at U18 level has been offered an opportunity to step up to national representation at the senior level. She will be joined by Kate Carriage (NSW) who has been promoted from the Australia A squad. Today's announcement also included the Development/U25 team and the U18 team where again, Team Henselite were well represented.
The Men's Under 25 squad includes Matt Baus and Nick McIntyre who will contest the pairs together. The U18 squad of four bowlers to contest the Trans Tasman in New Zealand this year includes Rohan Wilson and Sean Ingham from QLD and Chloe Stewart from VIC who set the bowls world alight last year when she made the semi-final of the Australian Indoor Championships. Australian squad regulars, Mark Casey and Nathan Rice have retained their places, as has Sean Baker who pulled on the green and gold for the first time in 2011.
