His record since he debuted with three gold medals at the 1992 World Outdoor Championships in Worthing, UK is quite simply phenomenal.
Since then 'Tattie' has picked up a further three world outdoor gold medals and his outstanding CV is further enhanced with two Commonwealth Games gold medals in 2002 and 2006.
His most memorable achivement to date is in the World Indoor Singles Championships where he has lifted the title a record breaking five times since 1999.
These amazing statistics show that he has an unbroken reign as a world champion since 1992.
Alex was honoured in the Queen's New Year Honour List in 2007 with an MBE for his services to the sport of bowls.
In 2011, Alex added the Gold Medal in the World Indoor Pairs to his CV, a title he shared with UK Henselite sponsored player, Paul Foster. He went on to claim the Silver medal in the Singles where he was beaten by Paul, the current World Number One.
