Why do I choose these bowls? My first set of bowls were Henselite. On deciding to stay in Australia in 2006, I decided that Dreamline was the best all round bowl. A bowl with a true finish into the jack and holding a good line when playing a weighted shot. Last year I started using ABT-evo on plastic surfaces and on very fast greens. I have been equally happy with ABT-evo on these surfaces.
Career Goals To win more titles in Australia and continue to have enjoyment of the game.
How and when did I start bowling: I started in 1976 because I lived next door to a bowling club and was invited to try out the game. When I began to compete in open competitions I became 'hooked' on the game and eager to achieve higher ambitions.
Career Highlights
  • First women to be invited and play in WIBC World Indoor Singles Championship, which was a men's event.
  • To be in the Scottish 'flag party' in Malaysia at the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. We had to wait outside the stadium and there were thousands of Malaysian people with children who wanted to touch my gold medal. The ribbon on my medal is marked with their hands and it makes it even more precious.
  • My first time skipping for Scotland at the Commonwealth Games in New Zealand 1990.
What would I do If I didn't play bowls: I have spent the biggest part of my working life playing bowls and have enjoyed meeting many new people and making many friends. It is hard to imagine not playing at all. I am retired now and if I didn't still play I would probably travel more.
Who would you like to have dinner with: Jack Nicholson
