News Team Henselite Aaron Wilson, new World Champ
December 7, 2016

Team Henselite's Aaron Wilson has made his international debut for Australia in emphatic style, teaming up with Brett Wilkie to become the World Champion in the Men's Pairs.

The Australia pair proved to be a formidable partnership, up against two more Team Henselite internationals in the final, Ireland’s pairing of Gary Kelly and Ian McClure.

With Aaron in the skip role, using his Dreamline XGs the pair led from start to finish and Ireland conceded on the penultimate end, with a final score of 18-7.

It was a fitting outcome for the pair, who toppled Scotland’s defending champions Paul Foster and Alex Marshall twice throughout the tournament, in sectional rounds and the semi-final battle.

The result was the nation’s first men’s pairs title victory in 36 years, having last claimed the honours in Melbourne in 1980.
