News Team Henselite April a Golden Month for Team Henselite Juniors
April 20, 2011

It's been a golden month for Team Henselite's junior bowlers with an avalanche of success at International and State events around the country.

Clayton's Dylan Fisher (VIC) started the gold rush when he took out the Victorian Under 25 Singles title at the end of March before going on to compete for Australia in the Junior Trans Tasman Trophy in Adelaide. The Aussies were attempting to win back the U18 title they lost to NZ last year. He was joined by Renee McPharilin and fellow members of Team Henselite, Kristina Kristic (WA) and Scott Jongh (QLD) and together they put on an emphatic display of bowls, claiming victory in all three tests on offer.

Fifteen-year-old Chloe Stewart, who plays her club bowls at Sunbury, showed that she's another Victorian to watch for the future when she won the U18 State Singles earlier in the month.

In the SA State Junior Championships this week Breeana Dickson won her third Girls Singles title as well as skipping her Triples combination to victory and Nathan Pedersen took out the Boys Singles trophy.

In the Queensland State Junior Championships which wrapped up today, Team Henselite young guns picked up the majority of the silverware. Rohan Wilson took out the Boys Singles while junior superstar Carly Griffiths won the Girls Singles title in her last year as an U18, for a record-breaking fourth consecutive year.

In other honourable mentions at the QLD State Junior Championships, Sean Ingham was named the Ray Lanham Player of the Championship after winning the Boys Pairs and Fours and claiming a silver medal in the Singles. And Elizabeth McKillop was able to repeat her acheivements of last year when she skipped her fours outfit to a Gold medal.

With so much talent on display throughout the junior ranks of Australian bowls at the moment, it's not difficult to imagine that these exceptional young bowlers will be causing serious headaches for senior State and National selectors before too long.
