Occupation: High Performance Coach (Cabramatta)
1st Commonwealth Games

How did you get started?
At the age of 11 my brother introduced me to the game, where we were welcomed by North Bendigo Bowls Club. It was quite competitive having 4 brothers and a sister all playing where we trained after school days. I thought bowls was great, specially trying to drive the ‘jack’ in the ditch!

When did you realise that bowls was something you wanted to pursue to the highest level?
It’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I remember watching the bowls on ABC - TV when I was young, and thinking one day I would love to achieve the goal of representing the country in the Green & Gold.

What has been the highlight of your career to date and why?
2013 Australian Open Singles – My first Australian title in front of family and friends. Something I’ll never forget.

2016 World Pairs Gold Medallist – I got my first opportunity to represent Australia at the World Championships, not only the best feeling wearing the Green & Gold, but also – with Brett “Wizza” Wilkie – achieving a Gold Medal for Australia was amazing!

Who has influenced you the most in your bowling career?
My Father & Mother. They are great influences on my life. Through the good and bad times they have supported me 100%.

What bowls do you use?
Dreamline XG

What do you like about these bowls?
They are Australian Made and bowls that suit all conditions. Dreamline XG is the perfect all-round bowl. I have confidence that any set of bowls I use from Henselite will be perfect, every time!

Which events are you contesting?
Singles & Pairs

What are you most looking forward to about the Commonwealth Games?
It’s a home games and we’ll be competing against the best players in the world.

Who or what inspires you?
The Australian Jackaroo team, we are a family. We love to see each other succeed and bleed for each other when we don’t.

What do you like most about the sport?
I love the competitive side as well as the social, but also working as High Performance Coach at Cabramatta Bowls Club. I’m quite lucky with what I do, having the opportunity to coach members in becoming the best they can be.
