News Team Henselite Dylan Fisher beats David Holt to win Victorian Masters Singles
April 2, 2012

Dylan Fisher lived up to his reputation as one of the most talented young bowlers in the country last week when he took out the final at the Victorian Master Singles over experienced Henselite team-mate David Holt at Richmond Union Bowls Club.

Both players made their way to the final through a tough field which read like the who's who of the Australian bowls scene. But in the end it was the Victorian who had the shots to become the youngest winner of the $20,000 tournament, victorious in the final 25-17.

While others were sure it was only a matter of time before the eighteen-year-old lifted such a piece of silverwear, Dylan himself seemed stunned by the victory, “It’s all a bit of a surprise. It hasn’t sunk in,” he told Bowls Australia.

David Holt was gracious in defeat, "Dylan was the better player on the day," the Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist said. "Australia has high hopes for his future in the sport and today he showed us why that's justified."
