News Team Henselite Lindores Takes Australian Open Women's Singles Gold
February 20, 2010

Joyce Lindores is arguably this year's Australian Open's most highly decorated competitor - a multiple World and Commonwealth Games Champion who has played over 900 games for her native Scotland. Today she showed just why that is the case, making the most of her experience to come back from 6-1 down in the first set of the Australian Open Women's SIngles to win it 10-6. She maintained her blistering form in the second set, taking that out 11-2.

Since making Melbourne her home in 2006 Lindores has represented Victoria and won numerous titles including the Australian Open over 60s triples in 2008, something which has made her victory in the Open competition this year extra sweet.

It’s a great thing for me at my age to come here and win this," the 65-year-old told Bowls Australia. "I was in a few tricky messes over the journey, but played well from there and came back."

Today's victory shows Lindores is still a force to be reckoned with.

Joyce Lindores bowls with Henselite Dreamlines.
