News Team Henselite Mark Casey wins Australian Indoor Title
August 24, 2012

Queensland's Mark Casey won his first Australian Indoor Singles title yesterday when he beat Paul Girdler in a closely fought final at Tweed Heads Bowls Club. It was the second major domestic singles title of the year for the Helensvale ace who added this trophy to the one he won at the Australian Open earlier in the year. Mark is only the second player to hold the two most coveted titles at the same time.

The final went down to the wire with the third end of the tie-break providing the winning opportunity for Mark who drew to the ditch to take out the trophy over his New Zealand rival.

"It's a big win for me, winning the Australian Indoors for the first time, but to win both titles in the one year is amazing so I'm really happy," he told Bowls Australia

"I knew I had a big opportunity to win the game, finals like these don't happen very often."

Mark Casey used Dreamline XGs for both his Australian Open Singles and Australian Indoor Singles wins and will go on to represent Australia at the World Cup next year.
