News Team Henselite Marshall and Foster on Top of the World
January 20, 2011

Scotland's Paul Foster and Alex Marshall MBE are feeling on top of the world after the pair, who boast eight world singles titles between them, celebrated their maiden win in the final of the Potters Holidays World Indoor Pairs Championship.

Gold Medallist in the pairs at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne and long-time users of Henselite bowls, the Scottish duo finally struck gold at the World Indoor after eight attempts at the title together.

In an all-Scottish final, opponents Andrew Barker and Michael Stepney took an early lead, taking out the first set. But Marshall and Foster fought back in the second, clinching all but two ends of the second set to force the tie-break and eventually take out the game 3-8, 7-3, 2-0

"The Commonwealth Games and the World Pairs are the pinnacle events," Marshall, the record five-time World Indoor Singles Champion, told World Bowls Tour. "To finally win the world title after eight years is a big weight off our shoulders. The longer it went, the harder it got."
