News Team Henselite Nathan Rice Wins Victorian Masters Singles
April 4, 2011

Queensland's Nathan Rice overcame wind, rain and chilly conditions to win the prestigious Victorian Masters Singles Championship at Richmond Union last week. This year's event boasted a high quality field including several Australian and international representatives.

The 31-year-old Helensvale bowler claimed the gold medal, championship cup and winner's cheque by easily beating Victorian Matthew Kurta 25-9 in a one-sided final encounter.

Nathan found that his ABT-evos worked well in the conditions, telling Richmond Union Bowls Club officials that ‘’The weather was not really a problem because Queensland has been getting its fair share of rain recently too, so this sort of green is what were used to playing on anyway.’’

The third place play-off was a more entertaining match for the spectators with Bundoora RSL's Nick McIntyre (using Henselite Dreamlines) staging a comeback over Warilla's Jeremy Henry to take out the game 25 to 23.

The top three bowlers, who all used Henselite bowls, took home $16,500 between them.
