News Team Henselite Scotland's Iain McLean takes World Singles Title
December 3, 2014

Scotland's Iain McLean has become the 2014 World Singles Champion of Champions after wining the final at  Fendleton Bowls Club in Christchurch against Malaysia's Fairus Jabal in straight sets 6-5 11-7.

In a semi finals series where 3 of the 4 bowlers, including Iain McLean, used Henselite bowls, Jabal eliminated hot favourite and local hero Ali Forsyth in a thrilling display, after the classy Kiwi, who won this event a decade ago, had qualified for the semi finals unbeaten.

It was a similar scenario for Australia’s David Holt who was unscathed over the previous six days but came to grief at the hands of McLean, the reigning world indoor mixed pairs champion from the Blantyre club in Lanarkshire.
