News Team Henselite Sean Baker and Alex Murtagh Take Queensland Open Triples
July 30, 2010

Team Henselite’s Alex Murtagh and Sean Baker proved this week that they are part of the hottest triples combination on Queensland greens, adding the 2010 Queensland Open to their State Triples title win in May earlier this year. The final was largely a Team Henselite affair with Victorians Mark Jacobsen and Barrie Lester hoping to take the title out of the Sunshine State. But Baker skipped his team-mates to a comprehensive 13-1, 9-6 victory.

“Going into the final we were pretty confident,” said Pine River’s Alex Murtagh who was using ABT-evos. “So much attention was on Mark Jacobsen and his attempt to win all three titles. He was the form player of the tournament.”

“We got on a role and kept it up in the final. I think we were the better side on the day and played well.”

Other results in a very sucessful tournament for Team Henselite included a finals appearance in the Triples for QLD’s Pam Rowe, who uses Alphas. “It took the Australian Team to beat us in the end so we were pretty happy with that!” she said after the win.

Anthony Kiepe made the final of the Men’s Singles showing great form as he now looks forward to defending his 2009 Australian Indoor Title at Tweed Heads in a few weeks time.
