News Team Henselite Sean Ingham wins QLD State Triples Title
May 16, 2011

Queensland's Sean Ingham showed why he has been touted as one of the finest young bowlers in the country when he skipped his triples combination of Ben Savva and Paul O'Brien to the Men's State Triples Title last week.

At 16 years old, this title is Sean's first open men's state title however he's no stranger to success on the bowling green. Last month he won the QLD U18 Pairs and Fours titles and was runner-up in the Singles, earning him the Ray Lanham trophy for the player of that tournament. It's performances like these that saw him win the QLD Junior Bowler of the year recently.

His latest success though, surprised even Sean himself. " It was totally unexpected. I am stoked. The whole moment just after the last end of the final was awesome. I couldn't believe it," he said. The trio had already surpassed expectations by making the final in a field which boasted a number of current and former Australian Representatives. "We just played well in the big games that counted," said the teenager.

Sean bowled with ABT-evos which he found worked well on the different surfaces throughout the event. "We started off on the carpet at Pine Rivers, " he said. "They went really well there. In the final [at Banyo Bowls Club] it was a bit slower but they went well there too."

Sean will be lining up to play pennant for Broadbeach next season.
