News Team Henselite Second QLD State Pairs for Sean and Sean
May 27, 2014

Sean Baker and Sean Ingham took out their second State Pairs title last week in blistering fashion when they blew away their opponents Anthony Williams and Mick Roy with a 31-1 victory in the final at Broadbeach BC.

The Team Henselite pair seemed unstoppable as they shot out of the blocks but the pair remained humble in their assessment of the win.

"In the final a couple of heads went our way which may not have. If they'd gone their way it would have been a totally different story,"  said Sean Ingham.

Sean Baker told Bowls Queensland "We’d never throw in the towel, but it was played in such a good spirit. It came off today, but we might be on the end of it next week."

They didn't have it all their way throughout the tournament however and had to play some brilliant, confident bowls to get out of a couple of tight spots.

"We only just managed to get out of our section, we won the last game by one or two on the last end. And then we met Eric Copeland and his partner and they had us down 11-1 but we grouped in and got back in front." said Sean Ingham.

Sean Baker used his Hensleite Fusions throughout the tournament " We played on a few different
surfaces and the Fusions were great on all of them. They held a nice line and didn't drift in the wind".

Sean Ingham was using Dreamline XGs and was also delighted with their performance. "They were beautiful, even on the tricky greens", he said. "I always knew where they were going."

The 2014 Men's State Pairs is the second title for the two Sean's. "Last year we were runners-up but the year before we won it. So we've done alright," Sean Ingham said.

Sean Ingham will be representing Australia in Novemeber this year at the World Junior Championships.
