News Team Henselite Silver for Lindores in the World Champion of Champions
December 6, 2010

Joyce Lindores added a silver medal to her bulging trophy cabinet when she was named runner-up in the World Champion of Champions held on Norfolk Island last week.

Now residing in Melbourne and playing her club bowls for powerhouse outfit Clayton, Joyce was representing Australia for the first time, having played over 900 games for her native Scotland, winning many titles including World Bowls and Commonwealth Games Gold medals.

The 2010 Australian Open Women's Singles Champion used Henselite ABT-evos on Norfolk Island as she made her way to the final, finding that these bowls provided her with much needed stability in the windy conditions.

The silver medal was bitter sweet for Joyce who played excellent bowls throughout the tournament, only to lose the final narrowly in the tie-break.

“Naturally I'm a little disappointed not to have won," Joyce told Bowls Australia after the 4-7, 12-5, 3-1 loss. "But I'm proud to have won a silver medal for my club, my state and my adopted country."

"If someone had offered me a silver medal two weeks ago when I first became aware of the caliber of competitors in the field I would have gladly accepted it.”
