News Team Henselite Team Henselite Jackroos heading to Scotland
July 15, 2013

Australia's current World Champions Mark Casey and Wayne Ruediger, will be joined by Nathan Rice when they board a plane for Scotland in 6 weeks time. Mark, Wayne and Nathan are three members of Team Henselite who have been picked in the Australian Team - The Jackaroos, as they are known - to play in the 8-Nations tournament, in the lead up to the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

The prestigious 8-Nations event, which kicks off on August 26, will be staged at the Kelvingrove Lawn Bowls Club in Glasgow, the host venue of bowls at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Australia will join New Zealand, England, South Africa, Malaysia, Canada and two teams from host nation Scotland at the event.

The Australian team will spend their time over the next 6 weeks preparing for the tricky conditions in Scotland, where the greens are expected to be much slower than the Australian players would be used to. The Team Henselite trio will be swapping the Dreamline XGs and Fusion bowls that they use on the faster Australian greens, to wider drawing bowls suited to the Scottish conditions such as the Tiger and Classic. A good performance here will stand these three hopefuls in good stead for Games selection.
