April 24, 2012

Team Henselite's U18 bowlers  the WA State Singles and Pairs Championships by storm, taking out three of the four titles on offer.

In the girls singles Rechelle Cole (Manning) came out the winner after a seesawing final against Dayna Cant. She then teamed up with good friend and Bowls Australia U18 Bowler of the Year, Kristina Krstic to win the Pairs. This is another in their string of pairs trophies which include the (open age) State Pairs Title and a finals appearance at this year's Australian Open.

In the boys pairs, Team Henselite's Garry Lockett won the title for the second year in a row. "It’s nice to go back to back in this event," he said "I was also pleased to win with Ryan Philpott who is a very promising young junior and helping him with his first State Junior title."

The final was a close run affair before Garry and Ryan opened up a commanding lead. "The game was neck & neck up to end 12 then we picked up a 4 a 3 and a 1 to finish on top, 17-10."

Garry used Henselite ABT-evo throughout the event. "Conditions were good," he said green speed 16. The bowls kept a true line on both hands with the windy conditions."
