News Team Henselite Tolchard's win leads England to Victory in Moama International
February 23, 2010

Young Englishman Sam Tolchard lead his team to an amazing victory yesterday against Australia when he won the final rubber of the men's singles in the Moama International.

Tolchard must have felt he had nothing to lose going into the game - his task seemed almost impossible. Not only did he need to win in straight sets but also with an 11 shot advantage against Australia's number one singles player. However he was equal to it and took out the first set 8-5 before winning the second set in blistering fashion 10-0.

"It’s always good to beat the Aussies," Tolchard told Bowls Australia. "I couldn’t believe I pulled away like that in the second set, but I’m glad I did."

Sam Tolchard used Dreamline bowls for the conditions at both the Australian Open in Shepparton and at the Moama International.
