News Team Henselite Triples Double for Pam and Alex
May 18, 2010

It was double delight this week for Queensland bowling couple Alex Murtagh and Pam Rowe when they secured the men's and women's State Triples titles respectively. The Pine Rivers pair, who have been together for two years, were pleased to be sharing their sucess with each other. "For us to both win at the same time and for us to both win the triples title is great," said Pam.

In the final at Maroochy Swan, Pam's triples outfit, which was skipped brilliantly by Jane Bush (using Almark Edge), claimed a thrilling 24-21 victory. "I really enjoyed winning and playing well," said Pam. "I was using Alpha bowls and they were great, really free running. We've got pretty quick greens up here." There will be more state title action coming up for Pam when she competes in the singles and pairs over the next two weeks.

In his push for the men's triples title, Alex played lead alongside Queensland and Team Henselite teamate Sean Baker, with their triples combination eventually taking the title 25-16. But they didn't have it all their way in the final, "we were a shot down or pretty even to begin with and then things just went our way in the end."  said Alex following the game.

This win makes it back-to-back State Triples titles for Alex and Sean who claimed the trophy in 2009. In the same year they also won the State Pairs title, a feat they will be hoping to repeat this week when the Queensland State Pairs starts on Thursday.
