News Team Henselite Triumph in the Triples at the Australian Open
February 18, 2010

This week New Zealand's Val Smith became the latest member of Team Henselite to win a major title, clinching victory in the women's triples at the Australian Open. The reigning World Singles Champion and current number one ranked player in the world skipped her triples team to a thrilling 8-7, 4-9, 3-2 victory at Shepparton Park Bowls Club over a much fancied Australian combination. On the same day, Kate Carriage's dream comeback run ended when she was defeated in the final of the women's pairs in a very tight contest, 6-5, 7-5. Returning to bowls after a 12 year hiatus her performances this week, including in the triples where she reached the semi-finals, have signaled her intention to be part of the future of the sport at the highest level for many years to come.
