News Team Henselite World Cup King Wins 3rd Title
May 6, 2014

Jeremy Henry has claimed his 3rd World Cup title last month in an event he has made his own over recent years. Competing at his home Club of Warilla, the Team Henselite champion took out the final in straight sets over Victoria's Tony Wood.

Jeremy started out well, maintaining control over the first 4 ends with singles before his opponent countered with 2 singles of his own. But Jeremy's class and experience came to the fore and he closed out the first set with counts of one and two shots to move to an unassailable 7-2 lead after 8 ends.

The second set started slowly for Jeremy and he found himself 4-1 down before coming back to level the scores at 4-4 after 6 ends.

But not to be outdone his Clayton opponent scored 3 on the next end, racing to a 7-4 lead with 2 ends to play in what had been so far a tight contest.

Henry clawed back one shot on the penultimate end to keep himself in the set and escalated the pressure in the final end, holdng four shots with only Tony Wood's last bowl to come.  He was able to remove only one of Jeremy's Henselite bowls, leaving the scoreline at 8-7 for the second set and yet another World Cup victory for the champ.
